Let\u2019s explore two strategies for doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-identify-the-waste-in-the-benefits-process\"><strong>Identify the \u201cwaste\u201d in the benefits process<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most effective ways to improve your operational efficiency is to leverage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.resourcepro.com\/blog\/how-lean-and-six-sigma-can-drive-efficiency-in-your-insurance-organization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lean management<\/a>. Lean management helps identify and eliminate \u201cwaste,\u201d or inefficiencies, that exists within the process of delivering a product or service through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lean.org\/lexicon\/value-stream-mapping\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">value stream mapping<\/a> and other steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the benefits process, examples of waste may include price shopping, obtaining missing information, fixing incorrect information, reformatting proposals, having senior employees doing junior-level work, or following up with carriers\/providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you see where the waste is, you can work toward implementing an appropriate solution.
